A resort community, lived in part-time

Lake Las Vegas was planned from the start as a resort: a privately held lake of roughly 320 acres on the eastern edge of Henderson, golf along the shore, and an Italian-style village at the water’s edge. Building began in the 1990s, and much of the architecture followed that theme, with stucco, tile roofs, arched openings and warm, Old World interiors.

That history shapes the homes we see. Lakefront and SouthShore estates were often finished with dark cherry or knotty alder, glazed raised panels and ornate range hoods. Villas, townhomes and condos, including those near MonteLago Village, tend to have compact kitchens built from a single builder spec. And a large share of owners use the house as a second home or a weekend place, which changes what a good remodel looks like.

Kitchens and bars for people who host

Homes here are built around a view and a patio, and the kitchen is where the evening starts. What owners usually ask us for:

  • An island for a crowd. Seating on one side, serving space on the other, and deep drawers for platters, chargers and the glassware that only comes out for guests.
  • A bar that stands on its own. A second sink, an ice maker, fridge drawers and a wine column near the patio doors keep guests out of the cooking zone.
  • Lighter, calmer finishes. Rift oak or walnut with a quiet door profile, which still suits the Mediterranean shell without the heavy glaze.
  • Lock-off storage. For homes that are rented or loaned out, a locking pantry section or owner’s closet keeps personal things separate.

When the house sits closed up

A second home in the desert has a hard life. The air conditioning is set high while the owner is away, interiors bake, and the air stays bone-dry whether or not there’s a lake outside the window. Wide solid-wood doors will check and twist under those conditions, so we use engineered panels for large fronts and coat the hidden faces as carefully as the visible ones. Valley water is just as hard here as anywhere in Las Vegas, so vanities and bar sinks get interiors that wipe clean and edges that won’t drink in a slow drip that nobody notices for three weeks.

How we work at the lake

We start with a visit to the house, ideally while you’re in town, to measure and talk through how you entertain. Drawings and a fixed, itemized quote follow, the cabinets are made in our North Las Vegas factory, and our own installers set them, working within your association’s rules.

Lake Las Vegas FAQ

Before you call.

I own a condo or villa at Lake Las Vegas. What should I check before replacing cabinets?

Ask your sub-association and the master association about contractor registration, work hours, elevator or loading-zone use, and debris removal. Interior cabinet work usually isn't a design-review item, but condo buildings often have their own logistics rules, and we work within them.

This is a second home and I'm not here most of the month. Can the project still run smoothly?

Tell us at the design visit how access will work, whether that's you, a property manager or a neighbor with a key. We'll plan the delivery and install days around it.

Can you match the Mediterranean style of my home without making it look dated?

Yes. Warm wood, a simple framed or lightly profiled door, and good stone keep the character of the architecture. We usually drop the heavy glazes, ornate corbels and stacked crown that make older resort kitchens feel tired.

Where should a wet bar go in a lake or golf home?

Usually on the path between the kitchen and the patio, so guests can serve themselves without crossing the cook's work zone. We plan the sink, ice maker and fridge drawers together so the bar works as its own station.
